'Shoot Out Breast Cancer' clay day 2018
Sunseeker London, Mayer Brown International LLP and MTU UK delighted to sponsor the Annual PAH Breast Unit Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School.
Group Managing Director David Lewis and Group Sales Director Christopher Head were amongst the other guns making up the 23 teams in total. The day was a record-breaking success, with Chris' team winning the 'Top Team' off the day - a feat which we are sure, Mr Lewis will do his hardest to accomplish at next years’ event!
Group Managing Director, David Lewis comments "We are proud to be supporting the fantastic Breast Unit in Epping and in my capacity as Chairman of their Advisory Board, it is wonderful to see so many other philanthropic individuals coming together to raise funds and awareness for the ground-breaking work that the charity does alongside the NHS. I have had members of my family and close friends treated for Breast Cancer by the Unit and am passionate in continuing my promotion to ensure that they go from strength to strength and that their Clinical Trials are expanded across the UK".
Group Sales Director, Christopher Head "Not only is this an excellent event for us to spend social time with our clients, but it is also vitally important to assist the charity in their endeavours. Over the years, this day has become a prominent one in our annual events calendar and both friends and clients of the Sunseeker London Group look forward to attending. We were delighted to have our fantastic engine manufactures – MTU, co-sponsor as well as the exceptional Law Firm, Mayer Brown who have championed the charity for the 3rd year running."
The main Auction involved a number of fantastic prizes, including; a private lesson with International Tennis Pro Henri Leconte, a Really Wild Clay Day for x 16 at an exclusive country estate and a Private London Sightseeing trip by Helicopter generously donated by the Castle Air Group who were also in attendance with one of their stunning Augusta choppers. Hosted by Dylan Williams from the Royal Berkshire Shooting School, the auction raised over £50,000 and was a tremendous success.
Annual supporters Purdey were in attendance to give guests the opportunity of trying their stunning guns and generously donated all proceeds from their stand to the charity. Long-time Sunseeker friend, Patricia K Pritchard was also delighted to exhibit her stunning new fashion line including sumptuous cashmere and silk wraps to warm any chilly clients as the sun disappeared.
With stories from survivors and lead surgeon Ashraf Patel speaking a few words, guests were beautifully reminded of the real reason for bringing us all together – to support the charity in any means possible, from making donations to spreading awareness.
In total the Breast Unit raised over £50,000 on the day and the Sunseeker London Group are already looking forward to next years’ amazing event.
